Grayson C reporting in - well overdue I know - with more updates from the madness known as my family (someone has to do the blogging, and with the parental units back at work, I am trying to pull my weight)
We moved mid-late March from our comfortable surrounds into more comfortable surrounds (well, I keep hearing mum and dad going on and on about ducted air conditioning, miele gas and how much they love being back at Teneriffe). I was a bit disturbed at first, owing to a significant lack of buzzy bees and dotti stickers - the bee situation has somewhat improved but I have NO idea where my dots are. (If only I was mobile I could go looking).
As for the other upheavals in my life...
Mum had to go back to work.
WAH!
Dad decided to go away for a few weeks (although I got to see him most days, I couldn't take him home with us - and mummy was kind of sad too)
WAAAAH!
One word - VACCINATIONS
WAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Ok, I confess - I decompensated. I regressed. Not back to foetus-hood, but I may have gone back to waking up a few times in the night. Well, mummy must have been up at just the same time too as she kept coming in and giving me a cuddle or some hand holding action. I worked out if I did it often enough, she would take me into bed with her - mummy cuddles whenever I want! (I slept really well after this).
Then one Friday, Daddy came home and stayed. As there wasn't enough room in the bed for me, I decided to sleep through the night again. (after which I kept hearing mum say that I was being a potato-head. Must look up meaning of potato head in dictionary)
Other news? I am slowing down in the growth stakes, which is a great relief to the parental units - as they kept muttering about the effects of freezing and defrosting on DNA, I am trying to stand up (and yes am working on crawling/wiggling too - I am well aware of the developmental concerns of babies who don't crawl - BWAH!) and the three of us are enjoying the delights of living close to the river/parks/restaurants etc etc. Must convince the parents we need to live around here permanently.

Progress report from Grrrrrrrayson - 5 and a bit months
Hello again.
WAAAAAH!!
What the freak is that pain in my mouth? I've got something sharp and pointy coming out my lower gum and just because I get a bit grizzly about it the parental units try and smear THIS stuff (see photo) in my mouth.
WAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!
I thought that guys are SUPPOSED to try and emote or something as part of their psycho-something development (or that's what it says on the women's channel)
Yeah well, mum and dad have been calling it a tooth. And they have tried to tell me that this is just the start of many many more. Hmmm. I am going to start looking at denture options...
On other news in tormenting the parents front, they measured me at 75cm today (I am just 5 months old) and then seemed to get a bit stressed that they may be breeding a giant. (Mother started doing google searches and was coming up with Marfan's disease)
Hee hee hee - I am just taking my growth hormones out for a spin! Daddy rang up one of his paediatrician friends who told him that there was nothing to worry about (yet).
Damn it, must work harder at parental stressing - maybe this teeth thing will work in my favour after all.
More news later

Mr G in da house....
Oh the humanity! How is a nearly 5 month old supposed to cope??
A striped beanie I tell you - in summer? To quote my mother - MEEP! (may I just add that the parents put the airconditioning on full blast so they could take a photo of me in this ridiculous garb before my head gets too big).
What other stresses am I under? Let me tell you, its almost enough to drive a 5 month old to drink.....more (squishey that is).
The parental units are trying to sell our home, and with a contract on it at present - this can only mean a move is not far away. Where will we go with my buzzy bees? And my dotti stickers?? WAAAAAH!
I started child care this week, and had to deal with a sad mother unit. Gee mum, snap out of it. The umbilical cord has got to be broken sometime.
And finally, it seems that there is other food out there apart from squishey. Well, it looks like squishey, and tastes a little like squishey.... but ..... hmmm. Have to work out what I really think about this. Mum says its to firm me up a bit - I think she was getting sick of the (ahem) leakage that one has with the new probiotic formula.
hee hee hee - who says babies can't have fun

The GoMA
Today we went to see the new GoMA (Gallery of Modern Art) at Southbank. It was high time our boy got some culture into him! He seemed to like it (or at least he didn't cry!). The current exhibition was the APT5. It Featured contempory art from the Asia-Pacific region. Some good stuff really. We also enjoyed lunch in the Foyer Cafe which had a nice view of the river and the William Jolly Bridge. Next time we will tackle the Museum.

Vaccination time again
What has the little man been up to lately? He hasn't got into too much trouble. The parents were quite busy with work last week so not many outings for Grayson. Seb came over for Cortina pizza one night and spent some time with G.
I think Seb is coming TV shopping with the boys today (not so long story.....our TV, or rather Ric's TV, self destructed this week....sorry Ric, right when I was going to watch the one dayer!). I always wanted an excuse to buy a flat screen (I thought the excuse that ...."you can bolt them to the wall which is safer for the child as he won't pull the TV onto him".....would work but Mel wouldn't buy it)
Also this week marked the 16 week and onwards milestone which of course meant more needles! He didn't seem to like them as much this time and cried for about a minute or two before he was calmed down with a song and some milk. Some kids have security blankets but ours has security milk!
Well that's about it for this week.....hopefully Grayson and his dad will be watching the one dayer tonight on a new LCD TV....if all goes well today!

Potrait!
The last week we got up to all sorts of things. Last Sunday we decided to have fish and chips by the water and ended up at a little cafe at Sandgate. It was quite a nice day and the fish and chips were actually really good. Earlier in the week we had converted Grayson's stroller from the bassinet to the chair so he could see more when we where out. He seems to like it a lot more now.
This week he also got to meet Seb, who flew back in from Germany for awhile and Jenn, who is also back in the country after a year away. Such a social butterfly.
On Thursday we went to the Jardine family's place and they have a pool. It was about 30 degrees so we took the opportunity to introduce Grayson to water (not the bath variety). I probably shouldn't have put him straight in as I think it was a bit cold at first and he protested quite loudly for a few minutes. But after some gentle persuading, and seeing that daddy was in the water and he seemed to be ok, he decided it wasn't so bad afterall. He even started to splash about a bit.

Here's a little number I tossed off recently in the Carribean....
Grayson was only moments away from having a Fisher Price piano bought for him when the mother unit managed to find this rather smart red toy piano via Google. German designed, made in China and air freighted to Australia from the ol' US of A. Not sure who is getting the most enjoyment out of it though....
So, updates from the smugs? Well, two of us didn't last the distance at the NYE party we went to (one of whom was Grayson). It was a fabulously catered party though - and we did stay for the seafood chowder (the final course before dessert). Arriving home, we opened a bottle of champagne (given to us by just.....Paul upon G's entry into the world) - one glass later and one of us went to sleep. (insert sheepish mother unit look here). Thank goodness for champagne stoppers as we were able to save the rest of the bottle for a picnic lunch with Wendy the next day!
Yesterday the two parental units managed to see a movie (and no, it wasn't a babes in arms session). Thanks to the grandparents we had our first cinematic experience in 4 months - Casino Royale. Now if we can only get out for dinner.... (hint hint)
Other news? Grayson continues to be a voracious feeding monster and growing at a rapid rate. 14 weeks old, 8kg and 70cm.
I think we are breeding a basketball player.
